UTXO Management is a digital asset fund investing in the analog to digital transformation of money and the emergent financial system. UTXO was founded in 2019 by David Bailey, Tyler Evans, and Coyn Mateer, three partners who’ve been investing in Bitcoin since 2012 and own the world’s largest Bitcoin media company and conference.
At UTXO Management, we’re focused on identifying mis-priced investment opportunities in the rapidly developing, highly volatile, and widely misunderstood digital asset space. We understand the boom and bust cycles of this early-stage market and are focused on allocating capital with a disciplined, long-term, value-oriented approach. We leverage our 8 years of experience investing in the Bitcoin markets to maximize exposure to this asset class while avoiding the regular 80%+ corrections through an analytical approach to blockchain data and market cycles.
In addition to providing investors with yield on their Bitcoin through our 210K Capital fund, we also strive to source early-stage venture investment opportunities. Most recently, we provided investors with access to Kraken Series A stock at a fraction of the price of their Series B share price.
David has been invested in bitcoin since 2012; sits on the Board of Directors at Maven (owner of TheStreet and Sports Illustrated, among other media properties); is a general partner at Off The Chain; and an active venture investor in Kraken, BitPay, Coinbase and Protocol Labs (the creator of Filecoin), to name a few. David also founded one of the first hedge funds in the space, 402 Digital, in 2015.
In 2013, he founded BTC Inc and guides its operations as CEO today. BTC Inc is the parent company of Bitcoin Magazine, the first and longest-running source of Bitcoin news in the space. David bought the publication from Mihai Alisie and Vitalik Buterin, whom you may know as the founder of Ethereum. Across all of its brands, BTC Inc has raised north of $40 million. The company also owns the largest Bitcoin conference in the space, with keynote speakers for the upcoming event, Bitcoin 2021, including Jack Dorsey and Chamath Palihapitiya.
Coyn serves as the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at UTXO Management. Coyn has been investing and advocating for Bitcoin since early 2013. Prior to UTXO Management, Coyn was a partner at BTC, Inc. where he led treasury management, investor relations and fundraising activities. Coyn spent the first five years of his career in investment banking as a Vice President at Allegiance Capital Corporation.
Coyn is also a founding member of the University of Alabama Board of Advisors, where he received his degrees in accounting and finance. Locally, he enjoys spending his free time giving back to the community through the Phoenix Club of Nashville and playing pickleball.
Tyler is a co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer of BTC Inc., a media and software company that operates Carrot, Bitcoin Magazine and Bitcoin 2021, the world’s largest Bitcoin conference series. Tyler has been investing in the Bitcoin space since 2013 and is an Advisor for Echo, a development tool for building decentralized applications with Bitcoin. With a degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Alabama, Tyler has gained years of experience in the technology sector, with a specific focus on cryptocurrency and bitcoin.
